Christmas Eve

I've just finished all my Christmas wrapping and wanted to give you all a very brief glimpse of our Christmas eve in Hobart:
  • Outside temperatue at 8:30 a.m. was 17 degrees celsius,
  • late this morning my neighbour was mowing his lawn,
  • my other neighbour's pet peacock came to visit us again,
  • we ate popsicles today,
  • we bought a 10lb watermelon at the grocery store,
  • the boys and I played frisbee before dinner.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day. We had a very white Christmas with lots and lots of snow. It is now raining and very ugly outside. I had Bob, the former in laws and former brother in law over for dinner. The kids were happy so that's what counts. I miss all of you ever day!
Much love,
Diane

John finally after much nagging, sent me your blog site - I absolutely love reading about your adventure and am glad to hear all is going well and the kids sound excited about their new life. Is Martin enjoying his new job? We are thoroughly fed up with this snow although at least today the sun is shining - it's New Year's Eve. We had Christmas here for the first time in 4 years with our two and Will's new wife Shimi - she's a great addition to the family. Best New Year wishes to you all. I'll look forward to reading more in your Hanlon blog.

Happy New Year Laurie, Martin, Emily, Patrick & Ethan,
Although you're a day ahead, it's our first day of the New Year. We've had a slow one after a nice evening with friends and more snow. It's just like the winters I remember when I was growing up in Lynn Valley. Snow mounds along the roads that seemed miles high to climb up and then roll down onto the side walks.
Quinn's loving the snow (although he's enjoying new video games from Christmas and staying inside even more).
I hope the kids are settling into school okay. A friend of mine recently mentioned the challenges she had moving from Vancouver to a small community in Australia...but she was talking about high school and I think the elementary kids are more open and curious.
All the best for the New Year and I look forward to reading more of the Hanlon adventures...

Christmas Eve in North Van:

Outside temperature: 0.
This morning my neighbour was shoveling his driveway.
My other neighbour's car came to visit us again (stuck in our snowbank).
We ate ANYTHING warm.
We bought a 10 lb bag of road salt at the grocery store.
The boys and I threw snowballs at cars before dinner.

Happy New Year.

We want YOUR Christmas.
