When we did finally arrive at the park we spent about 2 hours walking along some very easy trails through lush, moist woods. Russell Falls is nothing so grand as Niagara Falls but very, very pretty nonetheless.
And fungi . . . well, the kids were pretty patient with me while I exercised my Mother's Day right-to-photograph-yet-another-mushroom. Maybe that's why the 30 minute walk took two hours . . .
We had a lovely day out and as we came into Hobart, Patrick spotted the harvest moon just rising over the city. My picture doesn't do it justice but it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Hello from the wet coast (although the sun shines today). Amazing photo's Laurie. Wow, are the kids growing too. We're starting to wind down school with only 4 weeks left, once again the school year whizzes by. Is the school year the same down there are you just in the middle of the term?
Cheers for now, Susan
Hi Laurie, Martin, and rapidly growing children. Love to look at your beach-side photos from land-locked Alberta and read about your travels half a world away. It`s fall, you say, but here it`s late spring-early summer. Great shots of fungi, Laurie--but I wouldn`t put too many of them in my porridge.
Your cousin, Guy
